I am on “the hero’s journey”. Are you? Here’s how to know for sure.

There are many of us on the hero’s journey but they aren’t aware of it yet. The hero’s journey is part of the human experience. It starts with getting “the call to adventure”. Getting the call feels like a strong inner nudge (that won’t going away!) to do one of the following…

  • start your new business
  • Start a coaching/consulting business
  • Accepting a big promotion at your job that puts you in a leadership role
  • A desire to speak on stages & share your life changing message & story
  • Share your big idea or invention
  • Write a book
  • Start a ministry or a not for profit
  • Create a film or a play
  • Or lead a movement and create a specific change in the world

“The Hero’s Journey” was coined by Joseph Campbell -the late philosopher and author of “The hero with a thousand faces”. Campbell studied the most popular myths and stories in history (including modern day movies such as “Star Wars” and “The Wizard of Oz”). He discovered a common thread among all the greatest myths and stories in history! It was this… Every hero in the story went through 12 distinct stages that ended up transforming the hero’s life from the inside out.

This journey and process HAD TO HAPPEN in order for the hero to fulfill His/Her purpose and mission! The same is true for you on your journey.

These SAME 12 stages happen in REAL LIFE with real people like you and I. The 12 stages are aspects of the human experience.

At some point in our lives every person will “get the call to adventure”.

Some of people say YES! and start the journey. But some people choose to deny the call and they never start their journey due to fear, resistance, self-doubt, and unwillingness. They stay in their comfort zone.

I said YES! and started my hero’s journey in 2008. (I had no idea that’s what it was at the time. I found out much later.)

I invite you to watch this short video about The Hero’s Journey. Listen to all 12 stages. (I found this awesome video on Youtube by “raw spirituality” channel)

If the “hero’s journey” resonates with you and you have experienced 2 or more of the 12 stages of the Hero’s journey, I believe you are divinely chosen and called to fulfill a VERY important purpose and mission for your life. That is why this nudge to start your journey is so strong and it won’t go away.

———————————————————————————————————————————————-

Ultimately, the hero’s journey leads us on a path to a major challenge, problem or crisis. This big ordeal causes us to hit rock bottom and/or we come face to face with our greatest fear. This is often a “battle within ourselves” that must be transformed or healed in order for the hero to fulfill his/her life purpose or mission.

Next, the hero experiences a metaphorical death of the old self and a rebirth of the new self and a “renewing of the mind” and spiritual growth that takes place. The hero is transformed from the inside out. The hero is forever changed by this ordeal.

This is all preparing you (“the hero”) to grow so you can fulfill your calling and mission in life and make the BIG impact you were born to make. To do the work you were chosen and born to do!

AFTER, the hero is transformed and has the rebirth, he/she gets a strong inner nudge to take the journey back home and help others with his/her “elixir”. This new found wisdom, lessons, your story or process can and will change lives!

I’ve been through all 12 stages of the hero’s journey that I just described, TWICE! This journey changed my life!

And now, my role is to be a guide and mentor for others on this journey.

You are meant to complete your heroic journey and transform yourself so you can fulfill your God-given mission and purpose during your life time. YOU are meant to be a guide and mentor for your clients/customers, your employees, your family, your children, and for hundreds, thousands or millions of other people and change the world for the better.

Your business (or your role as a leader at the company you work for) is the vehicle that you share your new found wisdom and solution with your clients and customers and help them overcome their problem!

And if we resist and don’t cross the threshold and have the death and rebirth, and we don’t transform, then we keep getting the same painful lesson’s over and over again repeating in our lives or in our business until we are forced to CHANGE.

I know this because I had to go through it many times before I FINALLY got the lesson, death/rebirth, healed and changed. This totally changed my life! That’s why I am sharing my message with you now!

If you’d like to learn more, join me on a Facebook LIVE on Tues. April 30 at 2pm EST. I’ll discuss the hero’s journey and my experience and I would love to learn about your journey too.

I’m also working on a Facebook Page to gather a community of leaders and entrepreneurs who are on “The Hero’s Path”.
I hope you’ll join us here:
